Imagine us walking on the beach barefoot and hand in hand. We are close enough to the water that the tide flows gently over our feet sometimes. There's a breeze blowing against our faces, our feet leaving footprints behind us. It's only you and I. You in your white button up shirt, with it unbuttoned and a smile on your face just takes my breath away.
"Richie, I've waited so long for this moment," I tell you.
You stop walking, as do I, and you step in front of me. You take both my hands in yours and look me in the eyes. Your hair is now blowing into your face.
"So have I sweetheart. You mean so much to me. I've never met anyone as perfect as you," you say softly.
I smile and look down to the sand and our feet. I then find myself looking into your eyes. You're kneeling in front of me. Tears fill my eyes and a smile sweeps across my face. I know what is about to happen. You pull out a ring from your pocket and hold it out to me with one hand, and your other is still holding one of mine.
"Will you marry me?" you ask.
"Yes Richie. Yes... Baby, I love you." I answer.
You smile and tears fall from your eyes too. I fall to my knees and kiss you with both of my hands on the sides of your face. You clutch the ring tightly in your hand, making sure not to drop it. You put one hand gently behind my head. Once our lips part we put our foreheads together.
"I love you too. So much... I've never met anyone like you and I want to spend the rest of my life with you." You say as you gently take my left hand in your right and slide the ring on my finger.
We look each other in the eyes and slowly lean in and kiss a bit more. A hand goes to your cheek and travels down to your chest. You pull me in tighter to you and my hand goes up to your neck. I then part our lips and smile.
"So this... This is real?" I ask.
You stand up with a smile on your face. I'm looking up at you. You then help me up and pull me tightly against you.
"Yes, yes it is my sweetheart," You say as you caress my cheek with one hand and the other wrapped around the small of my back.
